The application does not verify whether the attacker is an administrator, allowing the attacker to directly call the GET /api/v1/files/ interface to retrieve information on all files uploaded by users, which includes the ID values. The attacker can then use the GET /api/v1/files/{file_id} interface to obtain information on any file and the DELETE /api/v1/files/{file_id} interface to delete any file.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-862"],"references":["https://huntr.com/bounties/c01e0c7f-68d8-45cf-91d2-521c97f33b00"],"products":["openwebui:open_webui"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:00:17.429720821+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-7043","score":0.0061,"percentile":0.49214,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-jrhc-9qg9-4qfq","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-jrhc-9qg9-4qfq","summary":"Open WebUI Allows Arbitrary File Reading and Deletion","modified":"2026-07-07T17:56:16.343704340Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"open-webui","purl":"pkg:pypi/open-webui","ranges":["<=0.3.8"],"fixed":[]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-1737","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-1737","summary":"Open WebUI Allows Arbitrary File Reading and Deletion","modified":"2026-07-23T09:45:09.933308988Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"open-webui","purl":"pkg:pypi/open-webui","ranges":["<0.3.16"],"fixed":["0.3.16"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
