{"cve":"CVE-2024-6162","nvd":{"published":"2024-06-20T15:15:50.570","modified":"2026-06-17T08:17:24.713","status":"Deferred","description":"A vulnerability was found in Undertow, where URL-encoded request paths can be mishandled during concurrent requests on the AJP listener. This issue arises because the same buffer is used to decode the paths for multiple requests simultaneously, leading to incorrect path information being processed. As a result, the server may attempt to access the wrong path, causing errors such as \"404 Not Found\" or other application failures. This flaw can potentially lead to a denial of service, as legitimate resources become inaccessible due to the path mix-up.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-488"],"references":["https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:1194","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:4386","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:4884","https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2024-6162","https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2293069"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:52:00.836172422+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-6162","score":0.01702,"percentile":0.77234,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-9442-gm4v-r222","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-9442-gm4v-r222","summary":"Undertow's url-encoded request path information can be broken on ajp-listener","modified":"2026-02-28T05:14:25.755895Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"io.undertow:undertow-core","purl":"pkg:maven/io.undertow/undertow-core","ranges":[">=2.3.0.Alpha1 <2.3.14.Final"],"fixed":["2.3.14.Final"]},{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"io.undertow:undertow-core","purl":"pkg:maven/io.undertow/undertow-core","ranges":["<2.2.33.Final"],"fixed":["2.2.33.Final"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
