On 32bit systems a long can hold numbers up to\napproximately two billion. The number of TICKS_PER_HOUR is really large,\n(32768 * 3600) or roughly a hundred million. When you start multiplying\nby a hundred million it doesn't take long to overflow the two billion\nmark.\n\nProbably the safest way to fix this is to change the type of\nTICKS_PER_HOUR to long long because it's such a large number.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-190"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/09c4a610153286cef54d4f0c85398f4e32fc227e","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/5127f3cbfc78a7b301b86328247230bec47e0bb3","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/53b0c7b15accb18d15d95c7fe68f61630ebfd1ca"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:59:48.811064707+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-57953","score":0.00225,"percentile":0.13263,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
