{"cve":"CVE-2024-5751","nvd":{"published":"2024-06-27T19:15:16.160","modified":"2026-06-17T08:16:35.527","status":"Modified","description":"BerriAI/litellm version v1.35.8 contains a vulnerability where an attacker can achieve remote code execution. The vulnerability exists in the `add_deployment` function, which decodes and decrypts environment variables from base64 and assigns them to `os.environ`. An attacker can exploit this by sending a malicious payload to the `/config/update` endpoint, which is then processed and executed by the server when the `get_secret` function is triggered. This requires the server to use Google KMS and a database to store a model.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-94"],"references":["https://huntr.com/bounties/ae623c2f-b64b-4245-9ed4-f13a0a5824ce","https://huntr.com/bounties/ae623c2f-b64b-4245-9ed4-f13a0a5824ce"],"products":["litellm:litellm"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:52:00.836172422+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-5751","score":0.00882,"percentile":0.59181,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-gppg-gqw8-wh9g","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-gppg-gqw8-wh9g","summary":"litellm vulnerable to remote code execution based on using eval unsafely","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:15.484935814Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"litellm","purl":"pkg:pypi/litellm","ranges":["<1.40.16"],"fixed":["1.40.16"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-389","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-389","summary":"litellm vulnerable to remote code execution based on using eval unsafely","modified":"2026-07-01T20:22:56.345088Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"litellm","purl":"pkg:pypi/litellm","ranges":["<1.40.16"],"fixed":["1.40.16"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
