A vulnerability has been discovered that could allow an attacker to acquire disk access with privileges equivalent to those of pghoard, allowing for unintended path traversal. Depending on the permissions/privileges assigned to pghoard, this could allow disclosure of sensitive information. This issue has been addressed in releases after 2.2.2a. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":4.8},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://github.com/Aiven-Open/pghoard/security/advisories/GHSA-m9hc-vxjj-4x6q"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:57:56.913276502+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-56142","score":0.00412,"percentile":0.35508,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-m9hc-vxjj-4x6q","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-m9hc-vxjj-4x6q","summary":"PGHoard Path Traversal vulnerability","modified":"2026-07-07T17:56:41.349093609Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"pghoard","purl":"pkg:pypi/pghoard","ranges":["<2.6.1-rc"],"fixed":["2.6.1-rc"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-1778","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-1778","summary":"PGHoard Path Traversal vulnerability","modified":"2026-07-07T17:48:01.198160778Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"pghoard","purl":"pkg:pypi/pghoard","ranges":["<2.6.1-rc"],"fixed":["2.6.1-rc"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
