The issue could occur\nwhen `head_pipe` is null.\n\nThe fix adds a check to ensure `head_pipe` is not null before asserting\nit. If `head_pipe` is null, the function returns NULL to prevent a\npotential null pointer dereference.\n\nReported by smatch:\ndrivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/../display/dc/resource/dcn201/dcn201_resource.c:1016 dcn201_acquire_free_pipe_for_layer() error: we previously assumed 'head_pipe' could be null (see line 1010)","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-476"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/16ce8fd94da8599bb6f0496895d392a69aead1c0","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/390d757621f5f35d11a63ed7d9d3262ead240064","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/8a1b1655a490a492a5a6987254c935ecce4eb9de","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/d11ae22a8beee9771d933c1e5c95e217edcdbd38","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/f22f4754aaa47d8c59f166ba3042182859e5dff7"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-30T13:47:47.119061695+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-49919","score":0.00237,"percentile":0.14764,"date":"2026-10-30"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
