By default `oak` does not allow transferring of hidden files with `Context.send` API. However, prior to version 17.1.3, this can be bypassed by encoding `/` as its URL encoded form `%2F`. For an attacker this has potential to read sensitive user data or to gain access to server secrets. Version 17.1.3 fixes the issue.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:P","score":7.7},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-22","CWE-35"],"references":["https://github.com/oakserver/oak/blob/3896fe568b25ac0b4c5afbf822ff8344c3d1712a/send.ts#L117-L125","https://github.com/oakserver/oak/blob/3896fe568b25ac0b4c5afbf822ff8344c3d1712a/send.ts#L182C10-L182C25","https://github.com/oakserver/oak/commit/4b2f27efd5cba5a45b2c3982e610da3af0869209","https://github.com/oakserver/oak/security/advisories/GHSA-qm92-93fv-vh7m"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:56:33.105311382+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-49770","score":0.00711,"percentile":0.53573,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-qm92-93fv-vh7m","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-qm92-93fv-vh7m","summary":"Path traversal in oak allows transfer of hidden files within the served root directory","modified":"2024-11-01T22:27:22.350305Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@oakserver/oak","purl":"pkg:npm/%40oakserver/oak","ranges":["<=14.1.0"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
