{"cve":"CVE-2024-4940","nvd":{"published":"2024-06-22T06:15:11.137","modified":"2026-06-17T08:03:14.683","status":"Analyzed","description":"An open redirect vulnerability exists in the gradio-app/gradio, affecting the latest version. The vulnerability allows an attacker to redirect users to arbitrary websites, which can be exploited for phishing attacks, Cross-site Scripting (XSS), Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF), amongst others. This issue is due to improper validation of user-supplied input in the handling of URLs. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by crafting a malicious URL that, when processed by the application, redirects the user to an attacker-controlled web page.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.1},"cwes":["CWE-601"],"references":["https://huntr.com/bounties/35aaea93-6895-4f03-9c1b-cd992665aa60","https://huntr.com/bounties/35aaea93-6895-4f03-9c1b-cd992665aa60"],"products":["gradio_project:gradio"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:52:00.836172422+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-4940","score":0.01021,"percentile":0.63433,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-g6c9-f4xm-9j4x","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-g6c9-f4xm-9j4x","summary":"Open redirect in gradio","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:15.275278919Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"gradio","purl":"pkg:pypi/gradio","ranges":["<=4.36.1"],"fixed":[]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-1414","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-1414","summary":"Open redirect in gradio","modified":"2026-07-07T17:47:40.281958773Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"gradio","purl":"pkg:pypi/gradio","ranges":["<=4.36.1"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
