Although the CSRF middleware verifies the Content-Type Header, Hono always considers a request without a Content-Type header to be safe. This can allow an attacker to bypass CSRF protection implemented with Hono CSRF middleware. Version 4.6.5 fixes this issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:H/A:N","score":5.9},"cwes":["CWE-352"],"references":["https://github.com/honojs/hono/blob/cebf4e87f3984a6a034e60a43f542b4c5225b668/src/middleware/csrf/index.ts#L76-L89","https://github.com/honojs/hono/commit/aa50e0ab77b5af8c53c50fe3b271892f8eeeea82","https://github.com/honojs/hono/security/advisories/GHSA-2234-fmw7-43wr"],"products":["hono:hono"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:55:31.737901711+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-48913","score":0.00325,"percentile":0.25611,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-2234-fmw7-43wr","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-2234-fmw7-43wr","summary":"Hono allows bypass of CSRF Middleware by a request without Content-Type header.","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:19.035733420Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"hono","purl":"pkg:npm/hono","ranges":["<4.6.5"],"fixed":["4.6.5"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
