{"cve":"CVE-2024-47881","nvd":{"published":"2024-10-24T21:15:12.957","modified":"2026-06-17T07:57:54.623","status":"Analyzed","description":"OpenRefine is a free, open source tool for working with messy data. Starting in version 3.4-beta and prior to version 3.8.3, in the `database` extension, the \"enable_load_extension\" property can be set for the SQLite integration, enabling an attacker to load (local or remote) extension DLLs and so run arbitrary code on the server. The attacker needs to have network access to the OpenRefine instance. Version 3.8.3 fixes this issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-89"],"references":["https://github.com/OpenRefine/OpenRefine/commit/853a1d91662e7dc278a9a94a38be58de04494056","https://github.com/OpenRefine/OpenRefine/security/advisories/GHSA-87cf-j763-vvh8"],"products":["openrefine:openrefine"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:56:33.105311382+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-47881","score":0.00689,"percentile":0.52777,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-87cf-j763-vvh8","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-87cf-j763-vvh8","summary":"OpenRefine's SQLite integration allows filesystem access, remote code execution (RCE)","modified":"2024-12-04T05:39:36.067915Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"org.openrefine:database","purl":"pkg:maven/org.openrefine/database","ranges":[">=3.4-beta <3.8.3"],"fixed":["3.8.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
