{"cve":"CVE-2024-47613","nvd":{"published":"2024-12-12T02:03:32.740","modified":"2026-06-17T07:57:24.040","status":"Modified","description":"GStreamer is a library for constructing graphs of media-handling components. A null pointer dereference vulnerability has been identified in `gst_gdk_pixbuf_dec_flush` within `gstgdkpixbufdec.c`. This function invokes `memcpy`, using `out_pix` as the destination address. `out_pix` is expected to point to the frame 0 from the frame structure, which is read from the input file. However, in certain situations, it can points to a NULL frame, causing the subsequent call to `memcpy` to attempt writing to the null address (0x00), leading to a null pointer dereference. This vulnerability can result in a Denial of Service (DoS) by triggering a segmentation fault (SEGV). This vulnerability is fixed in 1.24.10.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.6},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-787","CWE-476"],"references":["https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gstreamer/-/merge_requests/8041.patch","https://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/security/sa-2024-0025.html","https://securitylab.github.com/advisories/GHSL-2024-115_GHSL-2024-118_Gstreamer/","https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2025/02/msg00035.html"],"products":["gstreamer:gstreamer"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:57:36.180738747+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-47613","score":0.00902,"percentile":0.59755,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
