{"cve":"CVE-2024-47552","nvd":{"published":"2025-03-20T09:15:12.803","modified":"2026-06-17T07:57:17.600","status":"Modified","description":"Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability in Apache Seata (incubating).\n\n\n\n\n\nThis issue affects Apache Seata (incubating): from 2.0.0 before 2.2.0.\n\n\n\n\n\nSeverity Justification:\n\nThe Apache Seata security team assesses the severity of this vulnerability as \"Low\" due to stringent real-world mitigating factors. First, the vulnerability is strictly isolated to the Raft cluster mode, an optional and non-default feature introduced in v2.0.0, while most users rely on the unaffected traditional architecture. Second, Seata is an internal middleware; communication between TC and RM/TM occurs entirely within trusted internal networks. An attacker would require prior, unauthorized access to the Intranet to exploit this, making external exploitation highly improbable.\n\n\n\n\n\nUsers are recommended to upgrade to version 2.2.0, which fixes the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-502"],"references":["https://github.com/apache/incubator-seata/commit/20cd9625d23f99b71fefc83b8db96c14092a9950","https://lists.apache.org/thread/652o82vzk9qrtgksk55cfgpbvdgtkch0","http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2025/03/19/5"],"products":["apache:seata"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:00:17.429720821+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-47552","score":0.01246,"percentile":0.69322,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-2r4x-667f-mpfh","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-2r4x-667f-mpfh","summary":"Apache Seata Vulnerable to Deserialization of Untrusted Data","modified":"2026-03-27T15:16:24.114561Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"org.apache.seata:seata-config-core","purl":"pkg:maven/org.apache.seata/seata-config-core","ranges":[">=2.0.0 <2.2.0"],"fixed":["2.2.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
