{"cve":"CVE-2024-4498","nvd":{"published":"2024-06-25T20:15:12.127","modified":"2026-06-17T08:01:59.953","status":"Analyzed","description":"A Path Traversal and Remote File Inclusion (RFI) vulnerability exists in the parisneo/lollms-webui application, affecting versions v9.7 to the latest. The vulnerability arises from insufficient input validation in the `/apply_settings` function, allowing an attacker to manipulate the `discussion_db_name` parameter to traverse the file system and include arbitrary files. This issue is compounded by the bypass of input filtering in the `install_binding`, `reinstall_binding`, and `unInstall_binding` endpoints, despite the presence of a `sanitize_path_from_endpoint(data.name)` filter. Successful exploitation enables an attacker to upload and execute malicious code on the victim's system, leading to Remote Code Execution (RCE).","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.0","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:L/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.7},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://huntr.com/bounties/9238e88a-a6ca-4915-9b5d-6cdb4148d3f4","https://huntr.com/bounties/9238e88a-a6ca-4915-9b5d-6cdb4148d3f4"],"products":["lollms:lollms_web_ui"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:52:00.836172422+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-4498","score":0.00489,"percentile":0.42082,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
