This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. In addition, it also makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that have the comment block present and display the comment author's avatar.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.1},"cwes":["CWE-80"],"references":["https://core.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/57951/branches/6.4/src/wp-includes/blocks/avatar.php","https://core.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?sfp_email=&sfph_mail=&reponame=&old=57950%40%2F&new=57950%40%2F&sfp_email=&sfph_mail=#file3","https://wordpress.org/news/2024/04/wordpress-6-5-2-maintenance-and-security-release/","https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2024/04/unauthenticated-stored-cross-site-scripting-vulnerability-patched-in-wordpress-core/","https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/e363c09a-4381-4b3a-951c-9a0ff5669016?source=cve"],"products":["wordpress:wordpress"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:49:23.840078609+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-4439","score":0.71024,"percentile":0.99404,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
