A theoretical vulnerability has been identified in CKEditor 4.22 (and above). In a highly unlikely scenario where an attacker gains control over the https://cke4.ckeditor.com domain, they could potentially execute an attack on CKEditor 4 instances. The issue impacts only editor instances with enabled version notifications. Please note that this feature is disabled by default in all CKEditor 4 LTS versions. Therefore, if you use CKEditor 4 LTS, it is highly unlikely that you are affected by this vulnerability. If you are unsure, please contact us. The fix is available in version 4.25.0-lts.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:H/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":3.1},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://github.com/ckeditor/ckeditor4/commit/b5069c9cb769ea22eae1cbd7200f22b1cf2e3a7f","https://github.com/ckeditor/ckeditor4/security/advisories/GHSA-6v96-m24v-f58j"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:54:16.205165117+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-43411","score":0.00427,"percentile":0.37005,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-6v96-m24v-f58j","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-6v96-m24v-f58j","summary":"CKEditor4 low-risk cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability linked to potential domain takeover","modified":"2024-11-18T16:27:06Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"ckeditor4","purl":"pkg:npm/ckeditor4","ranges":[">=4.22.0 <4.25.0"],"fixed":["4.25.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
