Before 4.0.7, there is a flaw in the Static Libraries analysis section. Specifically, during the extraction of .a extension files, the measure intended to prevent Zip Slip attacks is improperly implemented. Since the implemented measure can be bypassed, the vulnerability allows an attacker to extract files to any desired location within the server running MobSF. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.0.7.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-22","CWE-23"],"references":["https://github.com/MobSF/Mobile-Security-Framework-MobSF/commit/cc625fe8430f3437a473e82aa2966d100a4dc883","https://github.com/MobSF/Mobile-Security-Framework-MobSF/security/advisories/GHSA-4hh3-vj32-gr6j"],"products":["opensecurity:mobile_security_framework"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:54:16.205165117+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-43399","score":0.00956,"percentile":0.61434,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-4hh3-vj32-gr6j","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-4hh3-vj32-gr6j","summary":"Mobile Security Framework (MobSF) has a Zip Slip Vulnerability in .a Static Library Files","modified":"2026-07-07T17:57:03.404270948Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"mobsf","purl":"pkg:pypi/mobsf","ranges":["<4.0.7"],"fixed":["4.0.7"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-1665","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-1665","summary":"Mobile Security Framework (MobSF) has a Zip Slip Vulnerability in .a Static Library Files","modified":"2026-07-07T17:47:05.322052403Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"mobsf","purl":"pkg:pypi/mobsf","ranges":["<4.0.7"],"fixed":["4.0.7"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
