The responder then waits for a new request packet.\n\ncommit 689c5421bfe0 (\"RDMA/rxe: Fix incorrect responder length checking\")\ndefers responder length check for UD QPs in function `copy_data`.\nBut it introduces a regression issue for UD QPs.\n\nWhen the packet size is too large to fit in the receive buffer.\n`copy_data` will return error code -EINVAL. Then `send_data_in`\nwill return RESPST_ERR_MALFORMED_WQE. UD QP will transfer into\nERROR state.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/163868ec1f6c610d16da9e458fe1dd7d5de97341","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/943c94f41dfe36536dc9aaa12c9efdf548ceb996","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/f67ac0061c7614c1548963d3ef1ee1606efd8636","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/163868ec1f6c610d16da9e458fe1dd7d5de97341","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/943c94f41dfe36536dc9aaa12c9efdf548ceb996"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:52:42.518321223+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-40992","score":0.00606,"percentile":0.48992,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
