{"cve":"CVE-2024-39899","nvd":{"published":"2024-07-09T19:15:13.160","modified":"2026-06-17T07:42:59.277","status":"Deferred","description":"PrivateBin is an online pastebin where the server has zero knowledge of pasted data. In v1.5, PrivateBin introduced the YOURLS server-side proxy. The idea was to allow using the YOURLs URL shortener without running the YOURLs instance without authentication and/or exposing the authentication token to the public, allowing anyone to shorten any URL. With the proxy mechanism, anyone can shorten any URL pointing to the configured PrivateBin instance. The vulnerability allowed other URLs to be shortened, as long as they contain the PrivateBin instance, defeating the limit imposed by the proxy. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.7.4.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-305","CWE-791"],"references":["https://github.com/PrivateBin/PrivateBin/commit/0c4e810e6728f67d678458838d8430dfba4fcca4","https://github.com/PrivateBin/PrivateBin/pull/1370","https://github.com/PrivateBin/PrivateBin/security/advisories/GHSA-mqqj-fx8h-437j","https://github.com/PrivateBin/PrivateBin/commit/0c4e810e6728f67d678458838d8430dfba4fcca4","https://github.com/PrivateBin/PrivateBin/pull/1370"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:52:42.518321223+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-39899","score":0.00627,"percentile":0.50068,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
