Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by manipulating snapshot files to include symlinks, leading to arbitrary file read by adding a symlink that points to a desired file on the filesystem and arbitrary file write by including a symlink and a payload file in the snapshot's directory structure. This vulnerability allows for the reading and writing of arbitrary files on the server, which could potentially lead to a full takeover of the system. The issue is fixed in version v1.9.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":9.1},"cwes":["CWE-59"],"references":["https://github.com/qdrant/qdrant/commit/ee7a31ec3459a6a4219200234615c1817ab82260","https://huntr.com/bounties/abd9c906-75ee-4d84-b76d-ce1386401e08","https://github.com/qdrant/qdrant/commit/ee7a31ec3459a6a4219200234615c1817ab82260","https://huntr.com/bounties/abd9c906-75ee-4d84-b76d-ce1386401e08"],"products":["qdrant:qdrant"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:51:20.603330631+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-3829","score":0.00909,"percentile":0.59951,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-7m75-x27w-r52r","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-7m75-x27w-r52r","summary":"qdrant input validation failure ","modified":"2026-06-29T12:26:09.727838895Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"qdrant-client","purl":"pkg:pypi/qdrant-client","ranges":["<1.9.0"],"fixed":["1.9.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-509","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-509","summary":"qdrant input validation failure ","modified":"2026-07-01T20:23:03.439257Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"qdrant-client","purl":"pkg:pypi/qdrant-client","ranges":["<1.9.0"],"fixed":["1.9.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
