As part of the sequence of packets in a Quick Share connection over Bluetooth, the attacker forces the victim to connect to the attacker’s WiFi network and then sends an OfflineFrame that crashes Quick Share.\nThis makes the Wifi connection to the attacker’s network last, instead of returning to the old network when the Quick Share session completes, allowing the attacker to be a MiTM. We recommend upgrading to version 1.0.1724.0 of Quick Share or above","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:H/AT:P/PR:L/UI:A/VC:H/VI:L/VA:L/SC:H/SI:L/SA:L","score":5.9},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":4.8},"cwes":["CWE-404"],"references":["https://github.com/google/nearby/pull/2402","https://github.com/google/nearby/pull/2433","https://github.com/google/nearby/pull/2435","https://github.com/google/nearby/pull/2589","https://github.com/google/nearby/pull/2402"],"products":["google:nearby"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:52:00.836172422+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-38271","score":0.00225,"percentile":0.13278,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
