By manipulating the `name` parameter through URL encoding, an attacker can upload a file to an arbitrary location on the system, such as `/root/poc.txt`. This vulnerability allows for the writing and overwriting of arbitrary files on the server, potentially leading to a full takeover of the system. The issue is fixed in version 1.9.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-20"],"references":["https://github.com/qdrant/qdrant/commit/15479a45ffa3b955485ae516696f7e933a8cce8a","https://huntr.com/bounties/5c7c82e2-4873-40b7-a5f3-0f4a42642f73","https://github.com/qdrant/qdrant/commit/15479a45ffa3b955485ae516696f7e933a8cce8a","https://huntr.com/bounties/5c7c82e2-4873-40b7-a5f3-0f4a42642f73"],"products":["qdrant:qdrant"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:51:20.603330631+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-3584","score":0.00548,"percentile":0.45893,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-xcr2-h8hv-6227","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-xcr2-h8hv-6227","summary":"qdrant is vulnerable to path traversal due to improper input validation in the `/collections/{name}/snapshots/upload` endpoint","modified":"2025-07-10T19:19:45Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"qdrant","purl":"pkg:cargo/qdrant","ranges":[">=1.9.0-dev <1.9.0"],"fixed":["1.9.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
