{"cve":"CVE-2024-3283","nvd":{"published":"2024-04-10T17:15:56.600","modified":"2026-06-17T07:43:42.943","status":"Analyzed","description":"A vulnerability in mintplex-labs/anything-llm allows users with manager roles to escalate their privileges to admin roles through a mass assignment issue. The '/admin/system-preferences' API endpoint improperly authorizes manager-level users to modify the 'multi_user_mode' system variable, enabling them to access the '/api/system/enable-multi-user' endpoint and create a new admin user. This issue results from the endpoint accepting a full JSON object in the request body without proper validation of modifiable fields, leading to unauthorized modification of system settings and subsequent privilege escalation.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.0","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.2},"cwes":["CWE-915"],"references":["https://github.com/mintplex-labs/anything-llm/commit/52fac844221a9b951d08ceb93c4c014e9397b1f2","https://huntr.com/bounties/a8000cce-0ecb-4820-9cfb-57ba6f4d58a2","https://github.com/mintplex-labs/anything-llm/commit/52fac844221a9b951d08ceb93c4c014e9397b1f2","https://huntr.com/bounties/a8000cce-0ecb-4820-9cfb-57ba6f4d58a2"],"products":["mintplexlabs:anythingllm"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:48:32.179249784+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-3283","score":0.0095,"percentile":0.61283,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
