{"cve":"CVE-2024-29027","nvd":{"published":"2024-03-19T19:15:06.980","modified":"2026-06-17T07:22:16.823","status":"Analyzed","description":"Parse Server is an open source backend that can be deployed to any infrastructure that can run Node.js. Prior to versions 6.5.5 and 7.0.0-alpha.29, calling an invalid Parse Server Cloud Function name or Cloud Job name crashes the server and may allow for code injection, internal store manipulation or remote code execution. The patch in versions 6.5.5 and 7.0.0-alpha.29 added string sanitation for Cloud Function name and Cloud Job name. As a workaround, sanitize the Cloud Function name and Cloud Job name before it reaches Parse Server.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.0},"cwes":["CWE-74"],"references":["https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/commit/5ae6d6a36d75c4511029f0ba5673ae4b2999179b","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/commit/9f6e3429d3b326cf4e2994733c618d08032fac6e","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/releases/tag/6.5.5","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/releases/tag/7.0.0-alpha.29","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/security/advisories/GHSA-6hh7-46r2-vf29"],"products":["parseplatform:parse-server"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:47:51.568503435+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-29027","score":0.01188,"percentile":0.67914,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-6hh7-46r2-vf29","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-6hh7-46r2-vf29","summary":"Server crashes on invalid Cloud Function or Cloud Job name","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:10.184177274Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"parse-server","purl":"pkg:npm/parse-server","ranges":["<6.5.5"],"fixed":["6.5.5"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"parse-server","purl":"pkg:npm/parse-server","ranges":[">=7.0.0-alpha.1 <7.0.0-alpha.29"],"fixed":["7.0.0-alpha.29"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
