{"cve":"CVE-2024-28123","nvd":{"published":"2024-03-21T02:52:23.827","modified":"2026-06-17T07:21:00.827","status":"Analyzed","description":"Wasmi is an efficient and lightweight WebAssembly interpreter with a focus on constrained and embedded systems. In the WASMI Interpreter, an Out-of-bounds Buffer Write will arise if the host calls or resumes a Wasm function with more parameters than the default limit (128), as it will surpass the stack value. This doesn’t affect calls from Wasm to Wasm, only from host to Wasm. This vulnerability was patched in version 0.31.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-787"],"references":["https://github.com/wasmi-labs/wasmi/commit/f7b3200e9f3dc9e2cbca966cb255c228453c792f","https://github.com/wasmi-labs/wasmi/releases/tag/v0.31.1","https://github.com/wasmi-labs/wasmi/security/advisories/GHSA-75jp-vq8x-h4cq","https://github.com/wasmi-labs/wasmi/commit/f7b3200e9f3dc9e2cbca966cb255c228453c792f","https://github.com/wasmi-labs/wasmi/releases/tag/v0.31.1"],"products":["wasmi-labs:wasmi"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:47:51.568503435+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-28123","score":0.00798,"percentile":0.56522,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-75jp-vq8x-h4cq","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-75jp-vq8x-h4cq","summary":"Wasmi Out-of-bounds Write for host to Wasm calls with more than 128 Parameters","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:10.185937807Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"wasmi","purl":"pkg:cargo/wasmi","ranges":[">=0.15.0 <0.31.1"],"fixed":["0.31.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
