Starting in version 3.5.27 and prior to version 6.8, Squid may be vulnerable to a Denial of Service attack against HTTP Chunked decoder due to an uncontrolled recursion bug. This problem allows a remote attacker to cause Denial of Service when sending a crafted, chunked, encoded HTTP Message. This bug is fixed in Squid version 6.8. In addition, patches addressing this problem for the stable releases can be found in Squid's patch archives. There is no workaround for this issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-674"],"references":["http://www.squid-cache.org/Versions/v6/SQUID-2024_1.patch","https://github.com/squid-cache/squid/security/advisories/GHSA-72c2-c3wm-8qxc","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/7R4KPSO3MQT3KAOZV7LC2GG3CYMCGK7H/","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/XWQHRDRHDM5PQTU6BHH4C5KGL37X6TVI/","https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20240605-0001/"],"products":["fedoraproject:fedora","netapp:bluexp","squid-cache:squid"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:46:54.846886191+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-25111","score":0.65254,"percentile":0.99254,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
