{"cve":"CVE-2024-24791","nvd":{"published":"2024-07-02T22:15:04.833","modified":"2026-06-17T07:14:52.253","status":"Deferred","description":"The net/http HTTP/1.1 client mishandled the case where a server responds to a request with an \"Expect: 100-continue\" header with a non-informational (200 or higher) status. This mishandling could leave a client connection in an invalid state, where the next request sent on the connection will fail. An attacker sending a request to a net/http/httputil.ReverseProxy proxy can exploit this mishandling to cause a denial of service by sending \"Expect: 100-continue\" requests which elicit a non-informational response from the backend. Each such request leaves the proxy with an invalid connection, and causes one subsequent request using that connection to fail.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":[],"references":["https://go.dev/cl/591255","https://go.dev/issue/67555","https://groups.google.com/g/golang-dev/c/t0rK-qHBqzY/m/6MMoAZkMAgAJ","https://pkg.go.dev/vuln/GO-2024-2963","https://go.dev/cl/591255"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:52:00.836172422+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-24791","score":0.01414,"percentile":0.72738,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GO-2024-2963","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2024-2963","summary":"Denial of service due to improper 100-continue handling in net/http","modified":"2026-02-04T03:37:39.895574Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"stdlib","purl":"pkg:golang/stdlib","ranges":["<1.21.12",">=1.22.0-0 <1.22.5"],"fixed":["1.21.12","1.22.5"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
