{"cve":"CVE-2024-22211","nvd":{"published":"2024-01-19T20:15:13.573","modified":"2026-06-17T07:10:57.080","status":"Modified","description":"FreeRDP is a set of free and open source remote desktop protocol library and clients. In affected versions an integer overflow in `freerdp_bitmap_planar_context_reset` leads to heap-buffer overflow. This affects FreeRDP based clients. FreeRDP based server implementations and proxy are not affected. A malicious server could prepare a `RDPGFX_RESET_GRAPHICS_PDU` to allocate too small buffers, possibly triggering later out of bound read/write. Data extraction over network is not possible, the buffers are used to display an image. This issue has been addressed in version 2.11.5 and 3.2.0. Users are advised to upgrade. there are no know workarounds for this vulnerability.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-190","CWE-122"],"references":["https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/commit/939e922936e9c3ae8fc204968645e5e7563a2fff","https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/commit/aeac3040cc99eeaff1e1171a822114c857b9dca9","https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/security/advisories/GHSA-rjhp-44rv-7v59","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/44VOA5KQQT7KQPW7CLST4Y4SQTKK3IOU/","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/PIQE3YSPOJPAUS7DPWIBTR5IQSQX35VM/"],"products":["freerdp:freerdp"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:44:57.175229480+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-22211","score":0.01076,"percentile":0.65011,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
