Prior to versions 2.0.0, the implementation did not validate the legitimacy of the `email` attribute of the user nor did it give/document an option to do so, making it susceptible to nOAuth misconfiguration in cases when the `email` is used as a trusted user identifier. This could lead to account takeover. Version 2.0.0 contains a fix for this issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-287"],"references":["https://github.com/synth/omniauth-microsoft_graph/commit/f132078389612b797c872b45bd0e0b47382414c1","https://github.com/synth/omniauth-microsoft_graph/security/advisories/GHSA-5g66-628f-7cvj","https://www.descope.com/blog/post/noauth","https://github.com/synth/omniauth-microsoft_graph/commit/f132078389612b797c872b45bd0e0b47382414c1","https://github.com/synth/omniauth-microsoft_graph/security/advisories/GHSA-5g66-628f-7cvj"],"products":["recognizeapp:omniauth\\"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:43:38.875533635+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-21632","score":0.00904,"percentile":0.59808,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-5g66-628f-7cvj","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-5g66-628f-7cvj","summary":"Omniauth::MicrosoftGraph Account takeover (nOAuth)","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:04.829983040Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"RubyGems","name":"omniauth-microsoft_graph","purl":"pkg:gem/omniauth-microsoft_graph","ranges":["<2.0.0"],"fixed":["2.0.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
