An authenticated attacker who stores a view that exploits this vulnerability could steal the data that's visible to another user who opens that view - not just the data already included on the page, but they could also, in theory, make additional requests and access other data accessible to this user. In some cases, they could also steal the access tokens of that user, which would allow the attacker to act as that user, including viewing other apps and resources hosted on the same server.\r\r**Note:**\r\rThis is only exploitable in Dash apps that include some mechanism to store user input to be reloaded by a different user.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":5.4},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://github.com/plotly/dash/commit/9920073c9a8619ae8f90fcec1924f2f3a4332a8c","https://github.com/plotly/dash/issues/2729","https://github.com/plotly/dash/pull/2732","https://github.com/plotly/dash/releases/tag/v2.15.0","https://security.snyk.io/vuln/SNYK-JS-DASHCORECOMPONENTS-6183084"],"products":["plotly:dash"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:44:57.175229480+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-21485","score":0.01487,"percentile":0.74056,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-547x-748v-vp6p","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-547x-748v-vp6p","summary":"Dash apps vulnerable to Cross-site Scripting","modified":"2026-07-20T13:45:33.730508170Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"dash-core-components","purl":"pkg:npm/dash-core-components","ranges":["<2.13.0"],"fixed":["2.13.0"]},{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"dash-html-components","purl":"pkg:pypi/dash-html-components","ranges":["<2.0.0"],"fixed":["2.0.0"]},{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"dash-core-components","purl":"pkg:pypi/dash-core-components","ranges":["<2.0.0"],"fixed":["2.0.0"]},{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"dash","purl":"pkg:pypi/dash","ranges":["<2.15.0"],"fixed":["2.15.0"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"dash-html-components","purl":"pkg:npm/dash-html-components","ranges":["<2.0.16"],"fixed":["2.0.16"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2024-35","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2024-35","summary":"","modified":"2026-06-23T10:41:07.893902418Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"dash","purl":"pkg:pypi/dash","ranges":["<2.13.0",">=2.14.0 <2.15.0"],"fixed":["2.13.0","2.15.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-219","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-219","summary":"","modified":"2026-06-24T17:00:18.574283170Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"dash-core-components","purl":"pkg:pypi/dash-core-components","ranges":["<2.0.0"],"fixed":["2.0.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-220","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-220","summary":"","modified":"2026-06-24T17:00:18.572449939Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"dash-html-components","purl":"pkg:pypi/dash-html-components","ranges":["<2.0.0"],"fixed":["2.0.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
