An attacker can decrypt ciphertexts by exploiting the Marvin security flaw. Exploiting this vulnerability requires the attacker to have access to a large number of ciphertexts encrypted with the same key.\r\r Workaround \r\rThe vulnerability can be mitigated by finding and replacing RSA and RSAOAEP decryption with another crypto library.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":5.9},"cwes":["CWE-203"],"references":["https://github.com/kjur/jsrsasign/issues/598","https://github.com/kjur/jsrsasign/releases/tag/11.0.0","https://people.redhat.com/~hkario/marvin/","https://security.snyk.io/vuln/SNYK-JAVA-ORGWEBJARSBOWER-6070734","https://security.snyk.io/vuln/SNYK-JAVA-ORGWEBJARSBOWERGITHUBKJUR-6070733"],"products":["kjur:jsrsasign"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:44:57.175229480+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-21484","score":0.0096,"percentile":0.61532,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-rh63-9qcf-83gf","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-rh63-9qcf-83gf","summary":"Marvin Attack of RSA and RSAOAEP decryption in jsrsasign","modified":"2024-02-27T19:23:58Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"jsrsasign","purl":"pkg:npm/jsrsasign","ranges":["<11.0.0"],"fixed":["11.0.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
