{"cve":"CVE-2024-2004","nvd":{"published":"2024-03-27T08:15:41.173","modified":"2026-10-15T01:17:42.867","status":"Modified","description":"When a protocol selection parameter option disables all protocols without adding any then the default set of protocols would remain in the allowed set due to an error in the logic for removing protocols. The below command would perform a request to curl.se with a plaintext protocol which has been explicitly disabled. curl --proto -all,-http http://curl.se The flaw is only present if the set of selected protocols disables the entire set of available protocols, in itself a command with no practical use and therefore unlikely to be encountered in real situations. The curl security team has thus assessed this to be low severity bug.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":3.5},"cwes":["CWE-436"],"references":["http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2024/Jul/18","http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2024/Jul/19","http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2024/Jul/20","http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2024/03/27/1","https://curl.se/docs/CVE-2024-2004.html"],"products":["apple:macos","fedoraproject:fedora","haxx:curl","netapp:bootstrap_os","netapp:h300s_firmware","netapp:h410s_firmware","netapp:h500s_firmware","netapp:h700s_firmware","netapp:ontap","netapp:ontap_select_deploy_administration_utility"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:47:51.568503435+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-2004","score":0.01681,"percentile":0.76785,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
