{"cve":"CVE-2024-1728","nvd":{"published":"2024-04-10T17:15:53.097","modified":"2026-06-17T07:04:52.987","status":"Analyzed","description":"gradio-app/gradio is vulnerable to a local file inclusion vulnerability due to improper validation of user-supplied input in the UploadButton component. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability to read arbitrary files on the filesystem, such as private SSH keys, by manipulating the file path in the request to the `/queue/join` endpoint. This issue could potentially lead to remote code execution. The vulnerability is present in the handling of file upload paths, allowing attackers to redirect file uploads to unintended locations on the server.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://github.com/gradio-app/gradio/commit/16fbe9cd0cffa9f2a824a0165beb43446114eec7","https://huntr.com/bounties/9bb33b71-7995-425d-91cc-2c2a2f2a068a","https://github.com/gradio-app/gradio/commit/16fbe9cd0cffa9f2a824a0165beb43446114eec7","https://huntr.com/bounties/9bb33b71-7995-425d-91cc-2c2a2f2a068a"],"products":["gradio_project:gradio"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:48:32.179249784+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-1728","score":0.85393,"percentile":0.99719,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-m842-4qm8-7gpq","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-m842-4qm8-7gpq","summary":"Gradio allows users to access arbitrary files","modified":"2026-10-27T16:45:03.549535448Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"gradio","purl":"pkg:pypi/gradio","ranges":["<4.19.2"],"fixed":["4.19.2"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-345","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-345","summary":"Gradio allows users to access arbitrary files","modified":"2026-07-01T20:22:53.897966Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"gradio","purl":"pkg:pypi/gradio","ranges":["<4.19.2"],"fixed":["4.19.2"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
