{"cve":"CVE-2024-1685","nvd":{"published":"2024-03-16T06:15:10.180","modified":"2026-06-17T07:04:47.363","status":"Modified","description":"The Social Media Share Buttons plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to PHP Object Injection in all versions up to, and including, 2.1.0 via deserialization of untrusted input through the attachmentUrl parameter. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to inject a PHP Object. No known POP chain is present in the vulnerable plugin. If a POP chain is present via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it could allow the attacker to delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code. CVE-2024-2721 is likely a duplicate to this issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-502"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/social-media-builder/trunk/classes/SgmbButton.php#L32","https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/9c17d18a-090f-4b35-a257-cfc0a16d5459?source=cve","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/social-media-builder/trunk/classes/SgmbButton.php#L32","https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/9c17d18a-090f-4b35-a257-cfc0a16d5459?source=cve"],"products":["sygnoos:social_media_share_buttons"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:46:54.846886191+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-1685","score":0.00769,"percentile":0.55603,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
