{"cve":"CVE-2024-1560","nvd":{"published":"2024-04-16T00:15:08.713","modified":"2026-06-17T07:04:30.317","status":"Analyzed","description":"A path traversal vulnerability exists in the mlflow/mlflow repository, specifically within the artifact deletion functionality. Attackers can bypass path validation by exploiting the double decoding process in the `_delete_artifact_mlflow_artifacts` handler and `local_file_uri_to_path` function, allowing for the deletion of arbitrary directories on the server's filesystem. This vulnerability is due to an extra unquote operation in the `delete_artifacts` function of `local_artifact_repo.py`, which fails to properly sanitize user-supplied paths. The issue is present up to version 2.9.2, despite attempts to fix a similar issue in CVE-2023-6831.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:H","score":8.1},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://huntr.com/bounties/4a34259c-3c8f-4872-b178-f27fbc876b98","https://huntr.com/bounties/4a34259c-3c8f-4872-b178-f27fbc876b98"],"products":["lfprojects:mlflow"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:48:32.179249784+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-1560","score":0.00856,"percentile":0.5842,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-5mvj-wmgj-7q8c","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-5mvj-wmgj-7q8c","summary":"mlflow vulnerable to Path Traversal","modified":"2026-07-07T17:57:24.849466946Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"mlflow","purl":"pkg:pypi/mlflow","ranges":["<=2.9.2"],"fixed":[]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-1641","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-1641","summary":"mlflow vulnerable to Path Traversal","modified":"2026-07-07T17:57:24.849466946Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"mlflow","purl":"pkg:pypi/mlflow","ranges":["<=2.9.2"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
