{"cve":"CVE-2024-10907","nvd":{"published":"2025-03-20T10:15:21.357","modified":"2026-06-17T06:56:40.303","status":"Modified","description":"In lm-sys/fastchat Release v0.2.36, the server fails to handle excessive characters appended to the end of multipart boundaries. This flaw can be exploited by sending malformed multipart requests with arbitrary characters at the end of the boundary. Each extra character is processed in an infinite loop, leading to excessive resource consumption and a complete denial of service (DoS) for all users. The vulnerability is unauthenticated, meaning no user login or interaction is required for an attacker to exploit this issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.0","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-835"],"references":["https://huntr.com/bounties/bf3ca81d-3508-4455-95d9-0b653e46d6e4"],"products":["lm-sys:fastchat"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:00:17.429720821+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-10907","score":0.007,"percentile":0.5321,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-qg86-f892-m4hj","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-qg86-f892-m4hj","summary":"FastChat Uncontrolled Resource Consumption vulnerability","modified":"2026-07-07T17:57:16.642442475Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"fschat","purl":"pkg:pypi/fschat","ranges":["<=0.2.36"],"fixed":[]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-1398","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-1398","summary":"FastChat Uncontrolled Resource Consumption vulnerability","modified":"2026-07-07T17:46:42.043451310Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"fschat","purl":"pkg:pypi/fschat","ranges":["<=0.2.36"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
