{"cve":"CVE-2024-0607","nvd":{"published":"2024-01-18T16:15:08.690","modified":"2026-10-16T15:16:08.413","status":"Analyzed","description":"A flaw was found in the Netfilter subsystem in the Linux kernel. The issue is in the nft_byteorder_eval() function, where the code iterates through a loop and writes to the `dst` array. On each iteration, 8 bytes are written, but `dst` is an array of u32, so each element only has space for 4 bytes. That means every iteration overwrites part of the previous element corrupting this array of u32. This flaw allows a local user to cause a denial of service or potentially break NetFilter functionality.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:H","score":6.6},"cwes":["CWE-229"],"references":["https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2024-0607","https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2258635","https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/c301f0981fdd3fd1ffac6836b423c4d7a8e0eb63","https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2024-0607","https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2258635"],"products":["debian:debian_linux","fedoraproject:fedora","linux:linux_kernel","redhat:enterprise_linux"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:44:57.175229480+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-0607","score":0.00258,"percentile":0.17295,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
