{"cve":"CVE-2024-0404","nvd":{"published":"2024-04-16T00:15:07.387","modified":"2026-06-17T06:53:25.743","status":"Analyzed","description":"A mass assignment vulnerability exists in the `/api/invite/:code` endpoint of the mintplex-labs/anything-llm repository, allowing unauthorized creation of high-privileged accounts. By intercepting and modifying the HTTP request during the account creation process via an invitation link, an attacker can add a `role` property with `admin` value, thereby gaining administrative access. This issue arises due to the lack of property allowlisting and blocklisting, enabling the attacker to exploit the system and perform actions as an administrator.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.0","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":9.1},"cwes":["CWE-915"],"references":["https://github.com/mintplex-labs/anything-llm/commit/8cd3a92c660b202655d99bee90b2864694c99946","https://huntr.com/bounties/b4355bae-766a-4bb0-942b-607bc491b23d","https://github.com/mintplex-labs/anything-llm/commit/8cd3a92c660b202655d99bee90b2864694c99946","https://huntr.com/bounties/b4355bae-766a-4bb0-942b-607bc491b23d"],"products":["mintplexlabs:anythingllm"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:48:32.179249784+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-0404","score":0.00783,"percentile":0.56036,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
