{"cve":"CVE-2023-6546","nvd":{"published":"2023-12-21T20:15:08.260","modified":"2026-08-06T22:16:38.727","status":"Modified","description":"A race condition was found in the GSM 0710 tty multiplexor in the Linux kernel. This issue occurs when two threads execute the GSMIOC_SETCONF ioctl on the same tty file descriptor with the gsm line discipline enabled, and can lead to a use-after-free problem on a struct gsm_dlci while restarting the gsm mux. This could allow a local unprivileged user to escalate their privileges on the system.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.0},"cwes":["CWE-366","CWE-362"],"references":["https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:0930","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:0937","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:1018","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:1019","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:1055"],"products":["fedoraproject:fedora","linux:linux_kernel","redhat:enterprise_linux"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:42:34.585441961+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-6546","score":0.00735,"percentile":0.54462,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
