This is due to a lack of nonce validation and insufficient validation of the instance_id on the 'updraftmethod-googledrive-auth' action used to update Google Drive remote storage location. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify the Google Drive location that backups are sent to via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link. This can make it possible for attackers to receive backups for a site which may contain sensitive information.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":5.4},"cwes":["CWE-352"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/2989669/updraftplus/tags/1.23.11/class-updraftplus.php","https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/e1be11c5-0a44-4816-b6bf-d330cb51dbf3?source=cve","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/2989669/updraftplus/tags/1.23.11/class-updraftplus.php","https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/e1be11c5-0a44-4816-b6bf-d330cb51dbf3?source=cve"],"products":["updraftplus:updraftplus"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:42:07.670898610+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-5982","score":0.00218,"percentile":0.1231,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
