If auxiliary_device_add() fails, the release callback will be\ncalled twice, resulting in a UAF. Due to timing, the auxdev code in this\ndriver \"took inspiration\" from the aforementioned commit, and thus its\nbugs too!\n\nMoving auxiliary_device_uninit() to the unregister callback instead\navoids the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.8},"cwes":["CWE-416"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/5b4052aa956e11bcd19e50ca559eb38dcb46201b","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/7455b7007b9e93bcc2bc9c1c6c73a228e3152069","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/934406b2d42eaf3fc57f5546cc68ff7ab9680bb3","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/d7d6dacf39ed102d7667721ca1700022c9c8b11a"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:11:26.888974865+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-53636","score":0.00207,"percentile":0.10792,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
