A check has been added to verify if leafidx is\nnegative. If it is, the function immediately returns an I/O error, preventing\nany further execution that could potentially cause harm.\n\nTested via syzbot.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.8},"cwes":["CWE-129"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/0d9e678a82915633b99603f744e7735d1a673d72","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/39f6292d75959e8accac0b3e24090094ba0824e9","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/4e302336d5ca1767a06beee7596a72d3bdc8d983","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/53b0a362aca2583729e8ca2936ca657ff3247d88","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/6e7d9d76e5654bcdd3cdb7c9441a8113428ecebb"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:11:26.888974865+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-53485","score":0.0019,"percentile":0.08716,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
