Before version 2.29.0, this also included the Log4J2 MBean. This MBean is not meant for exposure to non-administrative users. This could eventually allow an authenticated attacker to write arbitrary files to the filesystem and indirectly achieve RCE.\n\n\nUsers are recommended to upgrade to version 2.29.0 or later, which fixes the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-285"],"references":["https://lists.apache.org/thread/63b78shqz312phsx7v1ryr7jv7bprg58","http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2024/10/14/2"],"products":["apache:artemis"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:55:31.737901711+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-50780","score":0.17457,"percentile":0.97129,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-443j-grxv-2pgv","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-443j-grxv-2pgv","summary":"Apache ActiveMQ Artemis: Authenticated users could perform RCE via Jolokia MBeans","modified":"2025-03-20T19:31:23.763726Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"org.apache.activemq:artemis-cli","purl":"pkg:maven/org.apache.activemq/artemis-cli","ranges":["<2.29.0"],"fixed":["2.29.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
