Improper validation made it possible for an attacker to modify the HTTP request (e.g. to insert a new header) or create a new HTTP request if the attacker controls the HTTP version. The vulnerability only occurs if the attacker can control the HTTP version of the request. This issue has been patched in version 3.9.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-20"],"references":["https://gist.github.com/jnovikov/184afb593d9c2114d77f508e0ccd508e","https://github.com/aio-libs/aiohttp/commit/1e86b777e61cf4eefc7d92fa57fa19dcc676013b","https://github.com/aio-libs/aiohttp/pull/7835/files","https://github.com/aio-libs/aiohttp/security/advisories/GHSA-q3qx-c6g2-7pw2","https://gist.github.com/jnovikov/184afb593d9c2114d77f508e0ccd508e"],"products":["aiohttp:aiohttp"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:42:07.670898610+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-49081","score":0.00882,"percentile":0.59164,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-q3qx-c6g2-7pw2","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-q3qx-c6g2-7pw2","summary":"aiohttp's ClientSession is vulnerable to CRLF injection via version","modified":"2026-09-10T03:49:47.740711002Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"aiohttp","purl":"pkg:pypi/aiohttp","ranges":["<3.9.0"],"fixed":["3.9.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2023-250","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2023-250","summary":"","modified":"2024-01-29T16:41:42.718733Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"aiohttp","purl":"pkg:pypi/aiohttp","ranges":["<3.9.0"],"fixed":["3.9.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
