This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. A partial patch was issued in version 2.1.8. The vulnerability was fully patched in 2.1.9.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":5.4},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/email-encoder-bundle/tags/2.1.7/core/includes/classes/class-email-encoder-bundle-run.php#L529","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/2958823/email-encoder-bundle#file60","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/2994384/email-encoder-bundle/trunk?contextall=1&old=2958823&old_path=%2Femail-encoder-bundle%2Ftrunk#file0","https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/e90f04e4-eb4c-4822-89c6-79f553987c37?source=cve","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/email-encoder-bundle/tags/2.1.7/core/includes/classes/class-email-encoder-bundle-run.php#L529"],"products":["wp-webhooks:email_encoder"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:39:14.809778102+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-4599","score":0.00519,"percentile":0.44158,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
