This could allow for unexpected file creation on Superset webservers. Additionally, if Apache Superset is using a SQLite database for its metadata (not advised for production use) it could result in more severe vulnerabilities related to confidentiality and integrity. This vulnerability exists in Apache Superset versions up to and including 2.1.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-20"],"references":["http://packetstormsecurity.com/files/175094/Apache-Superset-2.0.0-Remote-Code-Execution.html","https://lists.apache.org/thread/pwdzsdmv4g5g1n2h9m7ortfnxmhr7nfy","http://packetstormsecurity.com/files/175094/Apache-Superset-2.0.0-Remote-Code-Execution.html","https://lists.apache.org/thread/pwdzsdmv4g5g1n2h9m7ortfnxmhr7nfy"],"products":["apache:superset"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:39:24.235896374+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-39265","score":0.86032,"percentile":0.9973,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-fm4q-j8g4-c9j4","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-fm4q-j8g4-c9j4","summary":"Apache Superset Improper Input Validation vulnerability","modified":"2026-07-07T17:57:38.372115926Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"apache-superset","purl":"pkg:pypi/apache-superset","ranges":["<=2.1.0"],"fixed":[]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-1177","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-1177","summary":"Apache Superset Improper Input Validation vulnerability","modified":"2026-07-07T17:57:38.372115926Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"apache-superset","purl":"pkg:pypi/apache-superset","ranges":["<2.1.1"],"fixed":["2.1.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
