{"cve":"CVE-2023-38703","nvd":{"published":"2023-10-06T14:15:12.020","modified":"2026-06-17T06:10:59.267","status":"Analyzed","description":"PJSIP is a free and open source multimedia communication library written in C with high level API in C, C++, Java, C#, and Python languages. SRTP is a higher level media transport which is stacked upon a lower level media transport such as UDP and ICE. Currently a higher level transport is not synchronized with its lower level transport that may introduce use-after-free issue. This vulnerability affects applications that have SRTP capability (`PJMEDIA_HAS_SRTP` is set) and use underlying media transport other than UDP. This vulnerability’s impact may range from unexpected application termination to control flow hijack/memory corruption. The patch is available as a commit in the master branch.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-416"],"references":["https://github.com/pjsip/pjproject/commit/6dc9b8c181aff39845f02b4626e0812820d4ef0d","https://github.com/pjsip/pjproject/security/advisories/GHSA-f76w-fh7c-pc66","https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2023/12/msg00019.html","https://github.com/pjsip/pjproject/commit/6dc9b8c181aff39845f02b4626e0812820d4ef0d","https://github.com/pjsip/pjproject/security/advisories/GHSA-f76w-fh7c-pc66"],"products":["teluu:pjsip"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:39:34.467980132+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-38703","score":0.0159,"percentile":0.75661,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
