When Spring integration is used, Armeria calls Spring controllers via `TomcatService` or `JettyService` with the path that may contain matrix variables. Prior to version 1.24.3, the Armeria decorators might not invoked because of the matrix variables. If an attacker sends a specially crafted request, the request may bypass the authorizer. Version 1.24.3 contains a patch for this issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-863"],"references":["https://docs.spring.io/spring-framework/reference/web/webmvc/mvc-controller/ann-methods/matrix-variables.html","https://github.com/line/armeria/commit/039db50bbfc88014ea8737fd1e1ddd6fd3fc4f07","https://github.com/line/armeria/security/advisories/GHSA-wvp2-9ppw-337j","https://docs.spring.io/spring-framework/reference/web/webmvc/mvc-controller/ann-methods/matrix-variables.html","https://github.com/line/armeria/commit/039db50bbfc88014ea8737fd1e1ddd6fd3fc4f07"],"products":["linecorp:armeria"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:38:35.729974749+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-38493","score":0.0072,"percentile":0.53925,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-wvp2-9ppw-337j","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-wvp2-9ppw-337j","summary":"Paths contain matrix variables bypass decorators","modified":"2026-09-10T03:49:57.293851875Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"com.linecorp.armeria:armeria","purl":"pkg:maven/com.linecorp.armeria/armeria","ranges":["<1.24.3"],"fixed":["1.24.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
