Google restricted third-party apps from directly obtaining non-resettable device identifiers in Android 10 and higher, but in this instance they are leaked by a high-privilege process and can be obtained indirectly. This malicious app reads from the \"ro.boot.wifi_mac\" system property to indirectly obtain the Wi-Fi MAC address and reads the \"ro.boot.bt_mac\" system property to obtain the Bluetooth MAC address.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":4.3},"cwes":["CWE-200"],"references":["https://media.defcon.org/DEF%20CON%2031/DEF%20CON%2031%20presentations/Ryan%20Johnson%20Mohamed%20Elsabagh%20Angelos%20Stavrou%20-%20Still%20Vulnerable%20Out%20of%20the%20Box%20Revisiting%20the%20Security%20of%20Prepaid%20Android%20Carrier%20Devices.pdf","https://media.defcon.org/DEF%20CON%2031/DEF%20CON%2031%20presentations/Ryan%20Johnson%20Mohamed%20Elsabagh%20Angelos%20Stavrou%20-%20Still%20Vulnerable%20Out%20of%20the%20Box%20Revisiting%20the%20Security%20of%20Prepaid%20Android%20Carrier%20Devices.pdf"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:49:08.435428910+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-38302","score":0.00352,"percentile":0.28863,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
