{"cve":"CVE-2023-33966","nvd":{"published":"2023-05-31T18:15:09.527","modified":"2026-06-17T06:02:37.100","status":"Modified","description":"Deno is a runtime for JavaScript and TypeScript. In deno 1.34.0 and deno_runtime 0.114.0, outbound HTTP requests made using the built-in `node:http` or `node:https` modules are incorrectly not checked against the network permission allow list (`--allow-net`). Dependencies relying on these built-in modules are subject to the vulnerability too. Users of Deno versions prior to 1.34.0 are unaffected. Deno Deploy users are unaffected. This problem has been patched in Deno v1.34.1 and deno_runtime 0.114.1 and all users are recommended to update to this version. No workaround is available for this issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-276","CWE-269"],"references":["https://github.com/denoland/deno/releases/tag/v1.34.1","https://github.com/denoland/deno/security/advisories/GHSA-vc52-gwm3-8v2f","https://github.com/denoland/deno/releases/tag/v1.34.1","https://github.com/denoland/deno/security/advisories/GHSA-vc52-gwm3-8v2f"],"products":["deno:deno","deno:deno_runtime"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:38:24.161619714+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-33966","score":0.00625,"percentile":0.49995,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-vc52-gwm3-8v2f","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-vc52-gwm3-8v2f","summary":"Missing \"--allow-net\" permission check for built-in Node modules","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:08.169778794Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"deno","purl":"pkg:cargo/deno","ranges":[">=1.34.0 <1.34.1"],"fixed":["1.34.1"]},{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"deno_runtime","purl":"pkg:cargo/deno_runtime","ranges":[">=0.114.0 <0.115.0"],"fixed":["0.115.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
