Versions prior to 1.1.9 contain a privilege escalation vulnerability, allowing elevation to superuser inside PostgreSQL databases that use the aiven-extras package. The vulnerability leverages missing schema qualifiers on privileged functions called by the aiven-extras extension. A low privileged user can create objects that collide with existing function names, which will then be executed instead. Exploiting this vulnerability could allow a low privileged user to acquire `superuser` privileges, which would allow full, unrestricted access to all data and database functions. And could lead to arbitrary code execution or data access on the underlying host as the `postgres` user. The issue has been patched as of version 1.1.9.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-20","CWE-1321"],"references":["https://github.com/aiven/aiven-extras/commit/8682ae01bec0791708bf25791786d776e2fb0250","https://github.com/aiven/aiven-extras/security/advisories/GHSA-7r4w-fw4h-67gp","https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20230616-0006/","https://github.com/aiven/aiven-extras/commit/8682ae01bec0791708bf25791786d776e2fb0250","https://github.com/aiven/aiven-extras/security/advisories/GHSA-7r4w-fw4h-67gp"],"products":["aiven:aiven"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:38:18.424950729+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2023-32305","score":0.00727,"percentile":0.54169,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
